FINDING INTERNAL RESOLUTION

Hi beloved human,

I often say, if you want to gauge your spiritual growth, spend a week with your family. It’s one of the most challenging soul contracts we undertake in this human experience.

My parents just spent a week with me, and the depth of the wounds that resurfaced was surprising. Despite my belief that I had worked through many of them, I found myself crying for an hour straight after they left. It became clear that I still have a lot of inner work to do.

All the practices I’ve engaged in so far have helped me to not take the entire experience so personally. They’ve guided me away from blaming them and towards taking responsibility for my part. They’ve helped me recognize that my parents, too, are human beings doing their best.

To be clear, I’m not talking about spiritual bypassing. I’ve never been one to sugarcoat things with “love and light.” I believe in acknowledging the messiness and feeling the pain deeply. However, expecting others to join us on our journey and hoping for a perfect resolution often doesn’t happen.

I am fortunate to have an army of trusted individuals who hold space for my broken heart and witness my vulnerability.

Now, my journey begins again: healing and finding the resolution within myself.

Do you have your army of love and support?

Embracing the Path of Healing

The path of healing is rarely linear. It’s a spiral that takes us deeper with each turn, sometimes revisiting old wounds we thought were healed. This recent experience with my parents has reminded me that healing is an ongoing process. It’s about peeling back the layers, understanding the roots of our pain, and finding compassion for ourselves in the process.

In the work that I offer as a medicine woman, I emphasize the importance of integrating these experiences. It’s not just about recognizing the wound but also about allowing ourselves to fully feel it, process it, and then (slowly) release it! This can be incredibly challenging, especially when the pain feels so raw and fresh.

The Role of Community in Healing

Having a supportive community is crucial. I’ve found solace in my tribe of like-minded souls who understand the depth of this journey. They provide a safe space for me to express my pain and offer their unwavering support as I navigate through it. This collective energy helps to hold and uplift each other, reminding us that we are not alone.

Moving Forward with Compassion

As I move forward, I’m reminded of the importance of compassion—both for myself and for my parents. They, too, are navigating their own paths, carrying their own wounds and traumas. By approaching the situation with compassion, I can soften the edges of my pain and find a sense of peace within. It also makes me feel like I don't have to rush through this process.

It also reinforces the importance of self-care. Taking the time to nurture my mind, body, and spirit is essential in maintaining balance and resilience. Whether it’s through meditation, movement, or simply being with my animals, these practices help to ground me and replenish my energy.

Finding Internal Resolution

Ultimately, finding internal resolution is about coming back to ourselves. It’s about acknowledging our pain, honoring our journey, and trusting in our ability to heal. It’s a reminder that while we may not have control over others or the situations we face, we do have control over how we respond and how we choose to move forward.

May we all find the strength to face our wounds, the courage to feel our pain, and the wisdom to heal ourselves from within.

Please never forget… we are in this human experience together.
