LETTING GO TO GAIN NEW CONTROL
Hello Earthling!
“Sometimes you have to let go to gain new control.”
These profound words by @dragonuknoooooo from our co-created song “Minha Vida” (My Life) resonated deeply with me recently. A few weeks ago I decided to venture to Berlin to immerse myself in learning from the incredible Karimu Samuels. It was a journey prompted by hitting a brick wall, realizing that sometimes things need to be viewed from a distance to be truly seen.
With the love, support, and encouragement of my three amazing men, I embarked on this adventure. And to my delight, my soul sister Dana Hood joined me last minute, adding her vibrant spirit to the experience.
Every day in Berlin was a revelation. Eight hours of daily embodiment practices peeled away layers of what I’ve come to call ‘blindness’ to my own body and spirit. Despite being a teacher and a practitioner, I discovered how disconnected I had become from my own body, caught in the whirlwind of perfectionism and impatience.
Amidst this physical and spiritual journey, I began a 21-day sugar detox under the wise guidance of another soul sister, Dr. Corina Fratila. Here are some powerful takeaways I have received.
- **Playfulness**: It’s one of the fastest ways back to your heart. Surround yourself with those who bring out your goofiest, most joyful self.
- **Flexibility**: Mental, physical, and emotional rigidity can be released through the spine. Stay soft, move your spine daily, and cherish the flexibility it brings.
- **Self-Care**: You cannot serve from an empty vessel. Always remember to ‘put the mask on yourself first.’
- **Embrace Discomfort**: Never stop feeling that ‘good sore’—the reminder of your inherent strength.
- **Step Out**: Magic happens outside our comfort zones. Where are you holding your soul back.
From a space of emptiness, I received the most profound download from Spirit—a visionary map that will evolve Body Alchemista into a teacher training program and support TRIBE in its journey to continue to unfold into school of embodied arts
Deep love,
